Over the weekend, hundreds of artists from all across the country gathered around Houston’s city hall to showcase their work. The streets were lined with tents on both sides, and .

Visual art was most represented, with many of the tents serving as temporary galleries for photography and paintings in all kinds of styles, ranging from romantic to abstract. There were also numerous sculptors and jewelers, along with craftsmen dealing in pottery, wood and leather-work.
The Bayou City Art Festival is organized by Art Colony Association and held biannually either in downtown Houston in the fall or Memorial park in the spring. ACA is a non-profit organization and the festival is funded in part by grants from the City of Houston.
