When Harry Potter is not around, one of his professors becomes the focus.
Next Thursday, get a glimpse of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” at a special event, aptly titled “A Return to J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.” The occasion promises to spellbind attendees with an exclusive preview of the film in IMAX and, even better, a live Q&A session with the cast plus director David Yates.
Fans in London will be able to meet Yates, Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler. People in Los Angeles—prepare to see Jon Voight and Colin Farrell!
Select theaters in New York, Sao Paolo, Mexico City and Rome will also showcase the event; viewers here can also submit their questions to the cast and crew.
Not in any of these cities? No problem—the entire event will be live-streamed on the film’s Facebook page.
In “Fantastic Beasts,” Redmayne plays magizoologist Newt Scamander, who comes to New York with a magical case full of extraordinary creatures. All it takes is a curious No-Maj, what Muggles are called in the U.S., named Jacob (Fogler) to set them loose—an incident that bears unfathomable consequences for both magical and ordinary worlds.
The film will be the first time Rowling writes a screenplay. Other than the gorgeous, new magical universe, viewers should also take note of the masterful contributions premier composer James Newton Howard (“The Dark Knight”) and veteran cinematographer Philipe Rousselot (“Sherlock Holmes”) will bring to the film.
Seek out the “Fantastic Beasts” on Nov. 18, 2016.
