“The Glamour and Romance of Oscar de la Renta” will open Sunday, Oct. 8 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
The exhibition will celebrate the life and career of the world renowned fashion designer and showcase 70 ensembles from de la Renta’s personal and corporate archives, according to the MFAH press release.
de le Renta’s career spanned over 50 years and he designed gowns for fashion icons such as Beyoncé, Laura Bush, Amal Clooney, Penelope Cruz, Kirsten Dunst, Karlie Kloss and Lynn Wyatt.
The ensembles will be presented in four thematic sections that had a profound impact and influence on de le Renta’s life and designs, including Spain, where the designer first launched his career, Russia, China and Japan.
The gowns in the exhibit will be displayed alongside paintings and decorative arts from the MFAH collections.
Admission for the event is free for MFAH members and children, $25 for adults (19+) and $20 for senior citizens (with ID), military (with ID), college students (with ID) and youth (13-18).
