With the recent release of “Thor: Ragnarok” and “Justice League,” the debate of Marvel and DC has to life once again. This war of superhero worlds has been going on since the release of the comic books and rages on to this day.
Marvel fans have always argued that Marvel is better because of its humor and extraordinary character, whereas DC fans say that DC movies have more intense and interesting plots that make them better.
There are number of differences between the two franchises. One key difference between the characters is that most of the DC characters are gifted or born with their superhero abilities whereas most of the Marvel heroes went through some accident which transformed them and gave them their extraordinary powers.
Moreover, the tone of these movies drastically sets them apart. Marvel movies tend to have a lot of humor, which has made the vast majority of these movies box office hits. DC movies, on the other hand, tend to have much darker undertones with serious plot lines and gloomy settings. Most of the DC superheroes like Batman and Superman are viewed as responsible heroes so the inclusion of humor in their movies does not fit their personalities. Whereas Marvel heroes like Iron Man and Spider-man are funny characters who keep messing up so, and their funny punchlines complement their punching fists.
Currently, superheroes are a new trend in the movie industry and because of that both Marvel and DC have released a lot of movies. One reason why the Marvel movies are doing better than DC is that they have a lot of new heroes like Deadpool and Wolverine with interesting plot lines that pull the audience into theaters, whereas the DC movies still revolve around Superman and Batman.
Both of these Fiction universes have a huge fan base and hence the rivalry between these two markets has always been in the spotlight. But which of these two are superior? That is for you to decide.
