The best thing about college might simply just be the freedom to do as you please. The most important of those freedoms? The ability to binge watch Netflix to your greatest heart’s desire. Be honest, where would we be if we didn’t have this wonderful streaming service? This year, so many amazing shows have come out while leaving old ones that still have some hype.
So here are 5 shows that are a must watch this year, if you haven’t watched them already.
“Stranger Things”
1 & 2
Such an amazing show that has all of the science fiction and drama you need. It’s set in a fictional place, a small town where everyone knows everyone, Hawkins, Indiana. A strange incident happens leading to a disappearance of a child. Supernatural forces are at work in this little town.
“The Office”
A mockumentary of a group of office workers in a small paper company set in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Everyday there is something humorous going on, where the workday consists of drama, foolishness and amazing characters that sometimes engage in inappropriate behavior during office hours. A true “must-watch”!
“Fuller House”
If you loved “Full House”, you’ll definitely enjoy this! A revival show of the very popular and still loved Full House. 30 years later, the characters have come back and yes, our very favorite
uncle Jesse is still just as dreamy. With a mix of the old and new characters, this show has certainly been the hype this past year.
“The Shannara Chronicles”
Based on a trilogy by Terry Brooks, this show is a mix of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. The Elvin princess is out on a quest to save the four lands and meets a half-elf who is tasked with helping her in stopping the end of the world. This epic tale has it all, love, betrayal, magic and the perfect mixture of fantasy.
“The Magician”
This is basically the adult version of Harry Potter. It is based on a trilogy by Lev Grossman that takes the reader by the first page. A magic that has nothing to do with wands, but with hand symbols. Isn’t that cool? The fate of the world is left on the shoulder of these fine magicians and of course the chosen one, the savior! Pretty cliché, but in a good way.
