In college, gym memberships can get costly. Even then, how do you know where to start once you do find a gym? Try out these five affordable workout apps that can either help you get in shape at home or at the gym.
Aaptiv
Okay, so, I love Aaptiv. In my opinion, it works better as a running app, but they offer everything from abs to HIIT workouts. What makes Aaptiv so special is that all the workouts come in an audio format. There’s a personal trainer that guides you through each workout by describing what they want you to do next. The reason they don’t provide you with a visual video of how to perform the workouts is because it’s actually more efficient to rely solely on audio.
When you’re working out, taking the time to watch a demonstration video extends the length of your workout. By having a personal trainer coach you through the movements step-by-step, you don’t waste time learning the next move because they guide you through it to where you won’t have any questions. Not to mention, you can choose the length of your workouts, and you can either do them at home or at the gym.
Sworkit
Sworkit is an amazing at-home fitness app. You can choose the duration of your workouts, and they provide classes on yoga, cardio, abs and more. There are demonstration videos on how to do each workout, and don’t be fooled – these workouts are intense! Sworkit does an amazing job of keeping you on your feet until the entire program is done. After my first full-body workout with Sworkit, I was drenched in sweat and accomplishment. With your first month free, you’ll fall in love with Sworkit’s adaptable fitness plan. You can choose to upgrade to their subscription program for $30 for the next three months.
Daily Workouts Fitness Trainer
So, the layout for this fitness app isn’t entirely the prettiest, but Daily Workouts Fitness Trainer made it on my list because it’s one of the few fitness apps out there that don’t prompt you to purchase a subscription after a 30-day trial. There are categories ranging from arms, cardio, full body, legs and butt, and you can choose the duration of your workouts. The app provides you with engaging visuals that show you how to perform each exercise.
7-Minute Workout: Fitness App
The seven minute workout works so well for so many reasons. First off, you can get a full-body workout within seven minutes. That means you have plenty of time leftover to start your day! With this app, there’s no excuse as to why you can’t squeeze in time for a workout because even the busiest people have seven minutes to spare. Also, the workouts are high-intensity workouts that your body needs to get that heart rate up.
Weight Loss Fitness
You can use this app entirely for free; however, I’d suggest upgrading to their premium plan. This way you can access other workouts besides cardio, such as; arms, full body, abs and butt. However, since Weight Loss Fitness’ sole purpose is to help you lose weight, you can do this with their cardio workouts. The app has a beautiful interface, and it’s easy to navigate. You can either pay $10/month or purchase their 12-month plan that sets each month at $3.33. So, try out the free trial and if you love the app, then definitely purchase a subscription.
