From Friday, Sep. 14 to Sunday, Sep. 16, the Fandemic Tour will be making its Houston debut. This convention will bring notable fan favorites to NRG Center and provide a place for comic fans around the city to put on their favorite hero’s costume and meet some of their favorite celebrities.
The event features guest appearances from stars of many universes, including Dave Batista from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead, Jason David Frank from Power Rangers and many others.
Each day the convention will feature different events for guests to attend. On Friday, guests may attend a presentation from the Houston Cosmos Quidditch team as they discuss the increasing popularity of Quidditch across the world. If Quidditch is not interesting, they may also attend a spotlight appearance from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Smackdown General Manager, Paige, as she participates in a conversation with the audience. Later on during Friday’s events, there will be a show entitled “Dagorath – Fight Club!” which will provide the audience with an introduction to Live Action Roleplay (LARP) with fight demonstrations.
On Saturday, stars such as Michael Rooker from Guardians of the Galaxy and The Walking Dead, and Bruce Campbell will hold their spotlight appearances. A cosplay contest will also take place later on in the day.
On Sunday, named family day, television theorists may attend a Doctor Who fan theory show, and an event led by Mostafa Moussa who will discuss how he broke into the comic book industry as well as provide inspiration for those also wishing to enter the industry.
The Fandemic Tour will be hosting a Twitter Party on Wednesday, Sep. 12 at 8:00 p.m. Previews will take place and participants may receive prizes. There is also a chance for a grand prize winner to receive two VIP tickets to the tour.
Those wishing to attend Fandemic may purchase a full weekend general admission ticket for $80 on their ticket website. However, if a person does not wish to attend the entire weekend, there are single-day tickets available with the price varying depending on which day they want to go. In addition, VIP tickets start at $150 and vary depending on which VIP pass a person wishes to purchase.
