The magical moonscape of the moonGARDEN has come to Discovery Green for a ten-day exhibition.
The creator, Lucion Traveling Light of Montreal, celebrates Discovery Green’s ten-year anniversary by lighting up downtown Houston with giant, inflatable globes that portray not only Houstonian life, but also cities from around the world within them. This is the largest art installation these artists have ever created with the colorful globes circulating throughout the 12-acre park.
This extraordinary masterpiece consists of color-altering balloons that range in different sizes, along with some having projected images and figurines that casts shadows within them. From Sep. 29 to Oct. 7, creators of the moonlit masterpiece scheduled events from tours to romantic dances to children storytelling, a perfect experience for anyone of all ages to enjoy.
The best part of it all is that it’s free for all! The exhibit is open during all park hours but is activated at night to illuminate the night. It is also accompanied with mystical music to create a soothing ambiance as you travel through the different themed globes.
Also enjoy the moonGARDEN lounge, an aesthetically pleasing set up with lights, succulents, and chairs to have a relaxing evening presented by IKEA Houston throughout the ten-day exhibition.
Restaurants at Discovery Green such as The Lakehouse Café and The Grove collaborated with moonGARDEN to create moon-inspired treats for visitors such as Moon Pies and cocktails made with, of course, — Moonshine! What a way to light up the night!
