After weeks of assignments and tests and a harsh week of midterms, spring break couldn’t come any quicker. Use these drink recipes to enjoy the break and relax.

Note: while half of these drink recipes have alcohol, they can be optional and enjoyed without it.

This cocktail is sweet and tangy with a surprising twist of lime. It’s also very quick to make.

  • 4 ounces cherry juice
  • 1 can lemon-lime soda
  • 1 Lime
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • ice

Steps:

  1. Fill the glass halfway with glass.
  2. Squeeze one lime into the glass and add in the simple syrup, vodka and cherry juice as well.
  3. Fill the rest of the glass with lemon-lime soda.

The ginger beer in this cocktail mellows out the sweetness of the coconut cream and pineapple, making it more enjoyable to drink.

  • 2 ounces coconut cream
  • 4 ounces pineapple juice
  • 1 ginger beer
  • 1 tablespoon of grenadine
  • 2 ounces rum
  • 1 ounce Cointreau
  • ice
  • Optional: pineapple

Steps:

  1. Coat the bottom of the cup with grenadine and fill the cup halfway with ice.
  2. In a separate cup pour in coconut cream and pineapple juice. Mix well.
  3. Mix in the rum and Cointreau in the mixture. Then, with a small strainer pour the mixture in your prepared cup with ice.
  4. Fill in the remaining space in the cup with ginger beer and garnish with a pineapple slice.

Spicy Mango Mocktail

This mocktail is sweet with a hint of spice on your tongue.

  • 6 ounces mango juice
  • ½ jalapeno (sliced)
  • lemon-lime soda
  • ½ lime
  • tajin
  • ice
  1. Pour tajin on a small plate. Line the rim of your glass with a lime wedge and dip the rim into the tajin, coating it to your liking.
  2. Fill your cup halfway with ice. In the same cup throw in the sliced jalapenos and lime juice. Use a muddle to smash the mixture bringing out the juices of the jalapeno.
  3. Pour mango juice into the cup and fill in the remaining space with lemon-lime soda.

Pickle Mocktail

The pickle juice cocktail is crisp and has a nice flavor.

  • 3 tablespoons pickle juice
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • ½ lime
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • 8 ounces sparkling water
  • ice
  1. In a shaker, pour in pickle juice, tequila, squeezed lime juice and simple syrup. Cover it and shake it until mixed well.
  2. Pour the mixture into a separate cup with ice and fill the remaining space with sparkling water.
  3. Garnish with a pickle and enjoy.
  4. Optional: Add three more tablespoons of pickle juice if you want more of the flavor.

Enjoy these drinks and your spring break responsibly.
