The “Dead Meat” podcast is a show focused on horror media reviews and history, as well as interviews and themed games.

Spouses James A. Janisse and Chelsea Rebecca started the show in 2018. So far, they’ve amassed over 240 episodes.

The show itself acts as a companion piece to their main YouTube series, “Kill Count.” In it, the team counts kills from various horror media while providing in-depth commentary.

The average podcast episode runs about an hour and covers films ranging from old, new and recently Kill Counted.

Janisse and Rebecca maneuver through the stories, sprinkling in behind-the-scenes information and their own thoughts in a casual conversation format.

Some episodes even include horror trivia, games and industry interviews.

For interviews, the duo has had guests ranging from actors such as Howie Mandel and Matthew Lillard to production companies like Radio Silence. Each guest shares anecdotes from their various projects and general perspectives on life and the industry.

This summer, the show will be covering all 10 “Saw” films for Hot Saw Summer.

This briefly brings the show back to a weekly Wednesday schedule.

So far, there have been two episodes released in this marathon.

Episodes are released for audio listeners on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, with full videos on YouTube. The YouTube uploads are scattered due to a previous decision to create a secondary channel, “Dead Meat Presents,” but from “Hot Saw Summer” forward, all episodes will be featured on the main “Dead Meat” channel.

Listeners interested in horror media may find “Dead Meat” to be a great summer listen, so catch up on “Saw III,” give it a listen and enjoy a “Hot Saw Summer!”

Next week’s pod break feature promises an entertaining distraction.
