“Go! My Favorite Sports Team” (GMFST) is a podcast about sports, but it’s not your average sports talk show. It’s nothing like “The Pat McAfee Show” or TNT’s “Inside the NBA.”

Hosted by Tyler Scheid and Mark Fischbach, GMFST is a much more casual sports program.

Scheid, with football experience and a master’s in sports administration, speaks on various sports topics each episode with Fischbach, who has little to no knowledge of sports.

Their dynamic creates a more down-to-earth approach, with a mix of genuine discussion and comedy.

Episodes of the show have included standard topics such as The Olympics, the playoffs and WNBA’s Caitlyn Clark.

There have also been more niche discussions on Wiener dog racing, chess, beer sports and esports. Alongside these topics, the two hosts balance deep sports reflection with moments of hilarity, largely provided by Fischbach and Scheid’s shared sense of humor.

In some episodes, Fischbach’s co-hosts from “Distractible” make appearances, creating a space for a whole new variety of sports talk and humor. Other guests have also appeared, including call-in audience members and figures from the online sphere.

Scheid and Fischbach’s discussions on “Go! My Favorite Sports Team” are a good gateway for those who would like to get into sports commentary programs.

Their style does not require any previous sports knowledge.

Both hosts present talking points, with Scheid providing a deeper look in relation to his experience as Fischbach learns alongside the audience.

Since February 2022, the duo has delivered over 100 episodes, each running for about an hour.

The show is hosted in full on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Listeners can expect new episodes every Thursday. So, cruise into next weekend with a listen to “Go! My Favorite Sports Team” while awaiting the next “Pod Break!”
