For those in search of an entertaining distraction before summer ends, “Distractible” might just the podcast solution.
The podcast stars YouTube personalities Mark Fischbach, Wade Barnes and Bob Muyskens. It merges friendship, random discourse and competitions for hosting privileges.
Since 2021, the trio has recorded over 300 episodes. In these, they’ve shared thoughts and anecdotes on topics such as morality, fridge deliveries, the meaning of life and flooded homes.
Interestingly, all the episode topics also act as the basis for the main event: their conversational Game Show.
Each episode begins with an introduction of the host, who is the previous winner. Afterward, the new rules for winning host privileges for the next episode are outlined.
The two vying for the win must progress through the episode following the host’s rules to win points which are tallied to determine the winner.
To make things even more entertaining, the topics and rules change with each episode. Some episodes even subvert the format entirely, ensuring no two episodes are the same.
Episodes range from being rigged in secret to the contestants going through multiple hoops to figure out the rules. In some cases, the episodes are simply straightforward question-and-answer games.
“Distractible” can be found on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Episodes are posted twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, ensuring a great start and end to each week.
Each episode runs for about an hour, with YouTube and Spotify also featuring video versions of the show. Initially, the show had an exclusive deal with Spotify for the video recordings, but in December 2024, the videos were mass-uploaded onto YouTube. Since then, video has been available across both platforms.
Whether you choose to watch old episodes or stream new ones, get distracted with “Distractible” this week while you wait for the next summer pod break recommendation!
Hint: It’s set to be another Fischbach feature, but a more active one.
