Earth, Wind & Fire performed at Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land on May 5, 2026. The band famously opened with “Shining Star.” Verdine White played his guitar while wearing a silver sparkly fringe jacket with his legendary long hair moving to the beat. Lead singer Phillip Bailey led the band into the next groovy hit “Sing A Song.” The group had a choreographed dance for every song, the energy was electric.

Earth, Wind & Fire performed “Got to Get You Into My Life” which was originally sung by The Beatles. For their performance, the song was turned into a funk and soul track, making Smart Financial Centre feel like a late night disco. The performers had an upbeat and contagious enthusiasm.

Phillip Bailey sang alongside his son Phillip Bailey Jr., also known as Oshunde. They shared the stage with dedication to their music. The life of Marurice White was celebrated; he was the main songwriter and producer of Earth, Wind & Fire. Moreover, his brother Verdine White still keeps the family’s love of music alive, as he’s been playing since 1969.

The song “After the Love Has Gone” slowed down the vibe, creating a pause from the psychedelic wonderland. It was a groovy tune that calmed the audience. Following that melody, “Boogie Wonderland” got the crowd cheering and jumping. As a result, the audience embellished in the emotional nostalgic moment. To excite the crowd even more, they performed “September.” Subsequently, many hands were raised high, cheering and singing along.

Earth, Wind & Fire ended the night by giving praise to the original lasting members, Philip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson. The tribute was a beautiful close to the groovy night in Sugar Land.
