If you’re tired of cycling between the same spots on campus for lunch, there are plenty of options within a ten-minute drive of UH. The Third Ward is home to a surprising variety of restaurants, for meat-lovers and vegans alike.
Frenchy’s Chicken
Price Range: $
Located on the edge of UH, the original Frenchy’s Chicken has become a famous locale despite its humble roots. Still owned by the founding family, the restaurant has spawned 34 other locations. Several artists like Big Sean have given shout outs to the chain, most notably in Beyonce’s song “Bow Down/I Been On.” Rumors have been flying for several months that this location may be torn down, so make sure to visit sooner than later if you’ve never been.
