As the year starts and the Grammy’s just passed by, it’s time to check out what may be new in music this year. From rock to pop, there is something in store for everybody. Whether you’re waiting for albums from your favorite artists, or just looking out for what’ll hit the charts next, here’s a list for you.
“Camila”
Camila Cabello (January 12)
Cabello became known in 2012 when she was a contestant in “The X Factor” and as a result was paired up with four other girls forming the group “Fifth Harmony”. After her departure from the group in late 2016, she has been focusing on her debut album that is finally here. Her lead single “Havana” has topped several charts worldwide, so her album is worth a listen.
“Man of the Woods”
Justin Timberlake (February 2)
Just two days before he is set to perform at the Super Bowl, Timberlake will release his fifth studio album. The album will feature collaborations with Chris Stapleton and Alicia Keys. Timberlake hinted at the possibility of country-rock infused album.
“Growing up in Tennessee — very central of the country — Memphis is known as the birthplace of rock & roll, but also the home of the blues, but Nashville’s right down the street so there’s a lot of country music,” Timberlake said.
“Music for Cars”
The 1975 (TBA)
The English rock band will release their third studio album sometime this year. After the release of their second album in 2016, which was successful, the band is ready to take on 2018. There are no singles released yet, but we may not have to wait long.
“Firepower”
Judas Priest (March 9)
This will be the 18th studio album by the English band. Considered one of the greatest metal bands of all time and with a career spanning for almost 50 years, their album could teach us some lessons.
“I Hope You’re Happy”
Blue October (June 2018)
The Houstonian band will release their 9th album later this year. The leading track, “I Hope You’re Happy” was released on January 12 and is climbing up on the alternative rock charts. We need to support this local band!

Post Malone (TBA)
“Rockstar” is another top single of 2017. Although, his second album was supposed to be released on December 1st, it has yet to surface.
Rapper Post Malone said in a tweet, “hey guys, i know a lot of you guys were expecting a project today, it won’t be dropping for a little while. I’m sorry to let you down, but i need to make sure this album is perfect for you. I’m gonna keep working my ass off and make the best f*cking album ever. i love ya.”
So, this one may take a little longer.

Artic Monkeys (TBA)
The English rock band will follow up this year with their sixth album. There is a lot of mystery around this new album since there is no information on its release date or name. We are not sure what they may bring to the table, but their last album “AM” topped the UK charts.
TBA
Cardi B (TBA)
After the widely popular “Bodak Yellow” took over the Billboard charts, rapper Cardi B is still working on her debut album until it feels right.
“Every single time I think, ‘I got all the 10 songs,’ I’m like, ‘I’m buggin’. These ain’t it.’ It’s just like, ‘Damn! I’m competing with myself. I’m competing with the goddamn No. 2 record and stuff’,” she said.
TBA
Selena Gomez (TBA)
After battling with lupus and getting a kidney transplant, Gomez is ready to go back to the studio.
She shared a picture on Instagram where she is seen in a recording studio that’s captioned “Currently. Until the next year. Here’s where I’ll be.”
TBA
Ariana Grande (TBA)
2017 is a year that Grande will always remember. Marked by tragedy when a bomb killed more than 20 people, Grande’s Manchester concert was all over the news. She then laster returned to hold a benefit concert for those affected by the attack. Prior to the bombing, she had stated she was working one something new.
“I started an album already a year ago, over a year ago, but I want to keep creating, and it’s not done yet. So, I’m going to take my sweet ass time, so I’ll be rested and ready to go again as soon as possible,” Grande said.
