Kwazy Cupcake (Season 1, Episode 19)
Captain Holt’s interest in the mobile game “Kwazy Cupcakes” was unexpected as he was never into pop culture. Even though he initially made an effort to hide his addiction, it was hilarious to see him struggle to delete the app. It was funny to watch the Captain turn into an addict for this game as he had made fun of Gina’s obsession with the same thing.
De De De Derek (Season 4, Episode 1)
After the mobster forces Andy Samberg’s Jake and Holt into witness protection, the Captain hides the important case files from Jake to keep them both safe. However, since Jake desperately wants to solve the case and go home, he punishes Holt by forcing him to turn into a DJ. His rapping was absolutely hysterical and his deadpan, funky breakdown was almost impossible to not laugh at.
Podium Prank (Season 6, Episode 17)
Jake attempts to pull a practical joke on Captain Holt at one of his meetings. But when all of his ideas are rejected, Jake angrily chooses to move the Captain’s podium just a little bit. Unexpectedly, Holt is amused by this! He starts laughing hysterically and it’s hard not to laugh along with him.
Dance-off (Season 3, Episode 11)
As Holt is usually seen as someone uptight and serious, this scene in particular is extremely funny. The show is known to use a lot of humorous cold opens and Captain Holt is one of the main sources in this. In the episode “Hostage Situation,” Jake, Charles and Holt are patrolling the streets when a street dancer knocks Holt’s drink to the floor. In an unexpected twist, Holt starts an impromptu dance-off to defuse the situation. What makes this scene even more funny is Jake trying to film in the background.
Hot Damn! (Season 2, Episode 6)
Undoubtedly one of the funniest scenes, not just for the audience, but also for the cast and crew members as it was cut as soon as Captain Holt yelled “Hot Damn!”
The scene revolved around how Holt guessed the correct reason why Amy was late, which was because she was at the bank. He celebrates this with an uncharacteristic glee, making this scene hilarious!
