What’s up, Stallion?

The Houston hottie Megan Thee Stallion and BTS member RM joined forces for their second collaboration. The new hit was released as Billboard’s top song in their poll What’s your Favorite New Music Release of the Week

The song came in strong following Megan’s recent hit “Mamushi” featuring Yuki Chiba, which had lots of traction on TikTok.

The collaboration between Megan and RM was heavily anticipated as Megan hinted at the collab with a post of some emojis. The hint left both fandoms anticipating the song with tons of excitement.

“Neva Play” has the feel of a go-getter. It’s like it is prepping you for a fight. The “One, two, three, four,… Five, six, seven, eight” prepares you by the counts, as dancers start their count to equip you to perform.

A couple of verses stood out from “Neva Play,” but one that gained traction was RM’s verse, “For Asia, man, we paved the way.” There have been many discussions on the phrasing of BTS paving the way for the K-pop genre.

It is no secret that BTS hit the global stage and their wide success made other K-pop groups to be able to be part of that international success.

Not only did BTS make a difference with the great reach they had, but they also brought a lot of attention to the genre itself. There were a lot of fans before BTS started but other groups now have the opportunity to go on foreign stages thanks to the group. More fans worldwide are cheering for the boys and the BTS ARMY is stronger.

One of Megan’s verses that also had many comments is, “I can’t help that I’m that girl, they be talkin’, I don’t care beefin’ with yourself because you do not exist in my world.” Comments say the verse alludes to Megan’s problem with Nicki Minaj. She built a solid career and had a good comeback to Nicki with her song “Hiss.”

Megan’s energy is simply captivating throughout “Neva Play!” She exudes charm and her passion is evident and fits seamlessly with the song’s vibe. While the chorus could be a touch more melodic, her performance is so impressive that I can’t really complain.

Without a doubt, RM and Megan have emerged as one of the finest collaborations seen this year.

This track became a massive hit, resulting in it being featured as the fresh opening theme for WWE Smackdown.
