It’s practically Easter which means it’s time to start putting together last-minute Easter baskets!

Floral, pastel, bunny and egg-themed items have become commercial highlights of spring. Even if you don’t celebrate Easter, the season presents a unique opportunity to show some appreciation to your loved ones with cutesy baskets.

Here are some ideas to get you started.

Head over to Target or Walmart.

Firstly, you want to keep in mind the person or people you’re gifting to.

If they’re candy lovers, the $1 movie theater boxes of candies are the perfect size and price. If they’re into marshmallows or Peeps, this is the perfect time for them. Besides, Peeps are too cute to pass up, even if they’re not that good.

Fun fact: Did you know 2 billion Peeps are made a year?

Choose a basket and filler.

Select, local targets have these $1 berry baskets in the holiday section. They are cute and sparkly. Also, if you’re being mindful about your purchases, these can be reused!

If sparkly isn’t your loved one’s style, choose something that is, but be sure you find a basket that fits everything.

If you’re going all out, find some filler to add to the Easter baskets too. Flowers or faux flowers are a great filler option.

Pictured is a sample basket made using the berry basket, some faux tulips from the dollar section of Target and some candy.

Fill the basket.

Here are some other examples of gift baskets you could recreate, depending on who you’re gifting to.

  1. Craft Baskets: You could include paintable Peeps as well as paint, brushes and other art supplies. This is a great option for artsy friends or family members.
  2. Self-care Baskets: You could fill your basket with body scrubs. Pair scrubs with a loofah, dry brush, soaps and candles. Bath and Body Works is perfect for this, especially if your loved one is into aromatherapy.
  3. LEGO Baskets: LEGO sets are rarely a disappointment. This is also a good way to initiate quality time to build the set together.
  4. Beauty Baskets: If you’re gifting to someone who loves keeping up appearances, makeup, lotions and fragrances are good options. E.l.f. makes affordable and good-quality products that would fit perfectly into a beauty-themed gift basket. Pro tip: Make sure they want or need these new products to avoid waste.

These are just the tip of the iceberg for basket ideas, so get creative with these inspirations. Besides, baskets aren’t just for Easter, so these are all ideas you can save for a later gifting date.
