Katy Perry gave Houston an immersive show for their “Lifetimes.”

Perry, who had not toured in eight years, performed alongside special guest Rebecca Black on May 7 at the Toyota Center in Houston.

Following the theme of the tour’s setlist being released during her all-female flight to space, she kicked off her tour in Space City.

The tour takes on a video game format with a futuristic set design.

As the game begins, Perry, in a robotic outfit, emerges from the bottom of the stage connected to wires. Opening the concert with her new song “ARTIFICIAL,” featured on her newest album “143,” she describes herself as half woman, half machine.

Perry goes on to sing hits such as “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)” and “I Kissed A Girl,” each song collects hearts to level up to the next round of the game.

Harnessed and doing flips as dancers performed aerial acrobatics, the show is a concert, video game and circus all wrapped into one.

This concert was upbeat, fun and high energy. The crowd was definitely “Wide Awake.”

Later in the show, Perry picked four fans to join her on stage. The little girls she chose were so excited.

As the show ended, Perry won the game by being her true human self.

She closed out with “Firework,” as butterfly confetti shot out of cannons. The crowd went wild, and the arena overflowed with joy and life.

“Remain the main character of your video game,” Perry said, her performance reminiscent of a “Teenage dream.”
