Seether and Daughtry took Houston back to the early 2000s for a night on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
The two bands, combining forces on a U.S. tour spanning through October and November, revived their old hits from the early 2000s, giving their fans the experience of a lifetime.
Kami Kehoe and P.O.D., who are opening the shows, portrayed their passion for music, as well as their dedication to the fans on Wednesday night through their electric stage performance.
Kami Kehoe kicks the night off with “SOMETHING IN THE WATER.”
With the band entering the dark stage before her, Kami Kehoe painted the black abyss with nothing but blue silhouettes and anticipation for her arrival. She began the night off with her opening song “SOMETHING IN THE WATER,” a single released in 2024.
She quickly followed with “Obsessed” and “DIE 4 U,” leading into a transition where she handled both the drums and vocals for the final songs “Kandy” and “DOPAMINE.”
Shocking the crowd with her performance, Kami Kehoe set a standard for herself and left the crowd with her name ringing in their ears after that night.
P.O.D. started their set with a BOOM, literally.
For being the most active artist of the night, P.O.D. did not disappoint the audience in the slightest.
They opened with one of their most popular songs “Boom,” letting the audience feel their impact immediately. The momentum they created kept the crowd’s hands in the air and continued for the following songs “Satellite,” “Drop” and “I Got That.”
P.O.D. heightened the energy levels to be through the roof.
P.O.D. kept a connecting orange cord to the microphone that was utilized to flow with the motions of lead singer Sonny Sandoval, as he bounced around the stage during the entirety of their set.
The production that P.O.D. created shone light into the crowd’s eyes and set an expectation for the following headliners. To wrap up their set they ended with “Alive” while Sonny continued to jump all around the stage until the very end.
Daughtry opens with new songs from their most recent album “SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (PART TWO).”
Opening with bright visuals and passionate vocals, Daughtry continued the pace the openers had set while rocking to their own roll.
The first three songs in their setlist being “Divided,” “The Day I Die” and “The Bottom” showcased their newest album productions, displaying the true meaning this album holds to the band’s heart.
However, the switch was flipped immediately afterwards, as Chris Daughtry asked the audience while introducing the next song if they wanted to travel back in time for a few minutes.
Daughtry wanted to bring fans back in time to the 2000s by performing the top hits from their self-titled album.
“I know y’all came here to rock the fuck out tonight,” he said, strumming an acoustic guitar. “I’d like to strip things down on this one… this song’s called Home.”
Illuminating the 713 Music Hall, fans throughout all sections of the venue held flashlights for the song “Home,” emphasizing the impact of this song’s symbolism.
An impactful set through not just music, but personal words of wisdom.
“There’s always going to be people around you that think they know better for you,” Chris said. “If you could silence that noise for just a moment Houston, you just might hear your own voice.”
Ending his speech, he said, “This is my life and I get to choose how I live it… This song is called ‘Heavy Is the Crown’.”
After introducing the crowd to the song with their words of advice, Daughtry’s setlist ended with the song “Artificial” and they exited the stage knowing they touched the hearts of their fans that night.
As the words of wisdom Chris provided simmered throughout the venue, the excitement for the final artist rose higher and higher.
Seether opened with hits from their newest album “The Surface Seems So Far” and closed with their most popular nostalgic songs.
The most anticipated band of the night, Seether knew that there were high expectations inside the room and took that energy into account.
Immediately kicking off their set with the song “Lost All Control” from their new album “The Surface Seems So Far,” Seether left the crowd bursting with cheers and applause.
After, the band dove straight into “Needles,” “Country Song,” “Rise Above This” and “Judas Mind.”
Hit tracks from their debut album “Disclaimer” kept the momentum flowing throughout the entire night.
As Seether’s setlist progressed, they strategically spread out hit songs from the album “Disclaimer” to draw attention back to the nostalgia held in the crowd’s hearts.
“Fine Again” evoked the most emotion during the night. Fans eventually overpowered Shaun Morgan’s voice and created a beautiful harmony.
The song “Broken,” a collaboration with Evanescence’s lead singer Amy Lee which was released when Morgan and Lee were a couple, evoked added nostalgia. Leading fans back in time to the beginning of Seether’s origin, “Broken” set the stage perfectly for the following songs “Wasteland,” “Words as Weapons” and “Dangerous.”
After these songs were finished, fans listened to an extended introduction to “Fake It,” sparking the anticipation to be higher than ever.
Seether closed the night off with “Fake It” and “Remedy.”
The crowd absorbed all the energy they were channeling and reflected it right back. The excitement for the grand finale of both “Fake it” and “Remedy” was so high, a mosh pit formed within the crowd. Lingering for the entirety of the two closing songs, heavy emotions and sweat were all the eye could see.
Seether and Daughtry provided fans with a night they would forever cherish through channeling emotions from songs of the past and gathering strangers together to bond over the power of their music.
