“SIX” premiered at Houston’s Hobby Center on Apr. 7, 2026, as part of the Memorial Hermann Broadway at the Hobby Center 2025-2026 Season.

The musical, written by Tony Award®-winners Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss follows the six wives of Henry VIII as they recount years of European Modern Era history through music.

The show is led by an all women cast of talented actors including Emma Elizabeth Smith, Nella Cole, Kelly Denice Taylor, Hailey Alexis Lewis, Alizé Cruz and Tasia Jungbauer.

Through lively costume designs, vivid lighting cues and pop ballads, the show immerses the audience into an interactive production similar to a concert.

After watching the show, University of Houston alumna Kimberly Jackson stated that, “It’s a very unique style for a musical. It felt like being at a concert. It’s a small cast and it felt very intimate with no costume or set changes, just the occasional prop.”

Furthermore, the six wives of Henry VIII take turns telling their story through songs, in an attempt to persuade the audience that they had the hardest marriage.

This style of storytelling incorporates the audience into each number, with the audience almost serving as a 7th cast member.

“It was really funny and there were a lot of moments where the audience was able to engage with the cast,” Jackson states.

Dance heavy numbers including “Ex-Wives” and “Haus of Holbein” display the artistry choreographer Carrie-Anne Ingrouille incorporated into the blocking.

Conversely, “Heart of Stone” brings a more serene feeling to the production as Taylor delivers outstanding vocals.
