Pink cowboy hats, sequined outfits and energized festivalgoers flooded Zilker Park on Sunday, Oct. 13 to wrap up the 2024 Austin City Limits Music Festival.

Chappell Roan and her “Pink Pony Club” stole the show

Chappell Roan was the hottest artist to see on Sunday. While Roan was not the headliner, arguably, everyone on the festival grounds turned up to see her.

Starting energetically with “Femininomenon,” Roan lit the stage as fireworks erupted during the song. She quickly transitioned “Naked In Manhattan” keeping the spirits high in the crowd.

As Roan sang another pop melody, “Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl,” pink fireworks erupted on stage energizing the crowd more.

The crowd was  “HOT TO GO!” and danced in sync with Roan during her set–converting the grounds into her own fun dance studio.

As the sun set, Roan made the crowd dance again and go wild as she sang, “Red Wine Supernova,” “After Midnight” and “My Kink Is Karma.” Roan also sang “The Subway,” a softer, unreleased song.

Her performance at ACL marks her last show for 2024. Roan acknowledged this as she sang “Pink Pony Club” to close out her highly anticipated performance.

Tyler, the Creator, the headliner

Headliner Tyler, the Creator closed out the festival with songs like “LUMBERJACK,” “I THINK” and “SORRY NOT SORRY” bringing high energy to the end of the festival for 2024.

Tyler, the Creator took the crowd to 2011 as he sang “Tamale,” one of his older songs.

Tyler, the Creator moved around the stage with swagger and confidence, making the audience dance and sing with him–an exciting goodbye to the 2024 festival weekend.

Other Day Three Highlights

Before Tyler, the Creator’s performance, on the other side of the festival grounds, Qveen Herby delivered a memorable performance on the IHG Hotels and Resorts stage. With an engaging and stunning stage presence, Herby sang “BUSTA RHYMES” and “Vitamins” among other songs during her set.

Earlier in the day, Myles Smith took the stage at 3:45 p.m. and delivered a performance that was equally heartfelt and entertaining.

Smith opened with “River” and went on to cover The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather.” The crowd was amazed with him.

During his set, Smith talked about his own mental health struggles and encouraged the audience to talk about theirs. “You have a family in us, but more importantly Austin you have a family in you,” Smith said.

After emphasizing the importance of staying connected with community during hard times, Smith sang “Wait For You.”

The British singer and songwriter had a phenomenal stage presence and moved swiftly around the stage and into the audience as he sang ““Betting on Us,” “Solo” and “Stargazing.”

Other artists such as David Shaw, Malcolm Todd, Cannons and Orville Peck also performed to close off the festival on the hottest day of the weekend.

If you missed it this time around, Zilker Park will see you next year for more music and festivities.
