Before country artist Luke Bryan took the stage, a video played to welcome him into the Rodeo’s Star Trail of Fame. It featured him thanking all his fans for the honor of being awarded.

After the final pyrotechnic show, Bryan hopped out of a black SUV and immediately headed towards one of the points of the star stage. There, he thanked the audience for having him.

Luke Bryan started the show with “That’s My Kind of Night.”

Dancing and swaying, he took a swig from a mini red cup as he went into “Rain Is a Good Thing” and “One Margarita.”

He slowed down for “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye,” following up with “Love You, Miss You, Mean It.” Slowly, the room went dark and quiet.

A soft rock guitar riff for “What Makes You Country” followed by banjo, piano and guitar solos broke the void. This ended with a crashing of drums into another blackout.

As Blue lights came on, Bryan went into “Knockin’ Boots” and “Drunk on You.”

The artist shared his appreciation for the opportunity to play for rodeo before playing “Country Song Came On.” After, he smoothly transitioned into “Drink A Beer.” Throughout the tail end of this song, Bryan asked the audience to sing along with their flashlights out. They happily did.

The next few songs, “Buy Dirt,” “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” and “Play It Again” went on one after the other. Flashing colored visuals accompanied each performance.

Bryan, the newest member of the Star Trail of Fame, got onto the dirt for high fives.

After, he stood on the barricade to perform “I Don’t Want This Night to End.” The set ended with “Country Girl (Shake It for Me)” as Bryan climbed up another barricade. As it ended, he signed a fan’s hat, took selfies and did a final circle of high-fives before hopping into the back of the Rodeo’s pick-up truck. The band played him out.

Outside, the drone show featured a series of images including carnival rides, sheep, cowboys, the American flag and a touching message to Houston: “See Y’all Next Year.”
