College Radio Day is an annual celebration, aiming to raise awareness of college radio stations across the country. It goes a step further to highlight their importance and impact.

This annual celebration is also significant because it encourages those who don’t normally listen to college radio to tune in, at least on this designated day. The hope is that those who tune in eventually become regular listeners, helping to expand the reach of college radio stations.

The University of Houston is also home to its own student-led radio station, Coog Radio.

Launched in 2011, Coog Radio is the only student-run radio station on campus. It provides a platform for students to express their creativity on air while introducing them to the world of broadcasting.

The organization prides itself with promoting a diverse student body and serving as a bridge between the university and the city, fostering a strong sense of community.

To successfully do so, the organization has a board with members who each play key roles in ensuring things runs smoothly and upkeeping the radio magic at UH.
