For this “Reel Mood of the Week,” take a look at (and go see) these five films that feature numbers capable of summoning a great time when the previews ended.
“The Accountant”
2011: This is the year that the screenplay for “The Accountant” was featured in The Black List, a roster of most-liked projects that are yet (and will be) in production. The film features Ben Affleck as a math savant who uncovers a company’s conspiracy and is being chased for it. Meanwhile, an agent from the Treasury Department, Ray King (J.K. Simmons), is working out who the accountant really is.

“Kevin Hart: What Now?”
53,000: The number of people who have come to Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field to see comedian Kevin Hart drum up laughs as part of his “What Now?” tour.
“Max Steel”
1997: The year that the Mattel toy line in which this film is based on appeared on the shelves. When Max McGrath (Ben Winchell) discovers that he can bond with an alien companion, Steel (Josh Brener), to become a superhero, he begins to uncover secrets and don the role as mankind’s savior.
Limited Attention: “Shin Godzilla”
389: The height of everybody’s favorite kaiju in this film. Yes, it’s taller than both the lizard in Roland Emmerich’s film and the more proper rendition (but controversial, screen time-wise) in 2014. This version of “Godzilla” is directed by Hideaki Anno, who is well-known for creating “Neo Genesis Evangelion,” and Shinji Higuchi of two live-action “Attack on Titan” films.
Limited Attention: “Desierto”
3: The number of dangers that migrant Moises (Gael García Bernal) have to avoid if he is to enter the U.S. in one piece. To be specific, the dangers include a desert, a dog and its owner Sam (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) who is an armed vigilante. The film is directed by Jonás Cuarón, son of the “Gravity” filmmaker.
